She is a provisionally Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in the state of North Carolina, a National Certified Counselor, and holds a Board Certified Tele-Mental Health credential.

Her communications and counseling experience, coupled with her value of education and strengths-based methods, have culminated in roles such as Executive Director, Career Counselor, Director of Community Impact, Lead Trainer, Project Associate, Adjunct Faculty, Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, and Racial Equity Consultant/Trainer. She has worked with students (both traditional and non-traditional), adults in all stages of their lives and in an array of industries, individuals with various challenges (e.g. mental health diagnosis, lack of basic needs, little to no work experience, criminal background, etc.) as well as organizations to equip their staff to find success in engaging meaningful life and work experiences. Her nonprofit work has included educating the public about the local court system, working to bridge the digital divide through digital literacy and inclusion efforts, developing children’s interest in entrepreneurship through Money Magnets Club, and encouraging individuals and organizations to see and embrace the importance of equity, welcoming, and belonging in our communities through everyday action.

With respect to issues of diversity, equity, inclusion (DEI), racial healing, and justice, our philosophy is that all successful organizational change reverberates at the individual, group and systemic levels. The levels of this kind of change requires shared meaning of the organization’s values, exploration of those values’ connotative and denotative meanings, effective goal setting informed by disaggregated qualitative and quantitative data, and smart applications of well-formulated strategies as influenced by the espoused values.

Preliminarily, this requires a commitment to continuous learning and a vulnerability in order to build a foundation of trust. Centering input and voices from impacted communities to be served, adopting an equity lens, and conducting racial equity analyses are essential for long term beneficial impact. We look forward to serving your needs!
